Today you can purchase house cleaning supplies to suit every occasion and every need. But before taking a look at specialty house cleaning supplies it is advantageous to know what basic house cleaning supplies a home should have.

A basic list of house cleaning supplies should consist of laundry supplies, dishwashing supplies, surface cleaning supplies and floor cleaning supplies.

What should a home have for basic laundry supplies? Well the basics should consist of a good laundry detergent, a laundry stain remover and a fabric softener. These can all be purchased in various scents and packaging. What you are looking for are products that are efficient in stain removal, dirt removal and will refresh the laundry and what’s more you want all this without having any irritation to the skin.

Next onto keeping the dishes clean and hygienic. Again, there are many dishwashing soaps on the market. There are many reasons as to why people choose their preferred dish washing soap, such as the scent, environmental issues, skin sensitivity or even color but dishwashing soap is essential in a list of house cleaning supplies.

Every home is made up of many surfaces and some of these will require a specialty cleaner but an all-purpose surface cleaner will generally cover most surfaces. Before using an all purpose cleaner read the instructions just to be on the safe side.

An all-purpose cleaner can also be used on the floor but again check the instructions as floors that have coverings of vinyl, carpet, wood, laminate, or stone will all eventually require some sort of specialty care during their lifetime.

Now that you have a basic list of house cleaning supplies you can start turning your mind to the more specialized cleaning items, such as cleaners for ceramic counters or stainless steel kitchen appliances.

In the busy world that we all live in more and more people are turning to others that have started a house cleaning business to keep their homes clean and tidy. All these businesses will use an inventory of basic house cleaning supplies plus a selection of specialty house cleaning supplies.

Keep all house cleaning supplies in one place. This makes it much easier to find what you are looking for for a specific job and will also allow you to see if you are beginning to run short of a product. There is nothing worse than starting a job only to find that the house cleaning supplies you need are not there.

How Not To Waste Precious Time Cleaning

Posted on 14. Apr, 2009 by Mark Coleman.

Time to clean house. Not to worry there is the odd house-cleaning tip that will save you time and effort.

First house cleaning tip keep all house cleaning supplies together. This is the only way to save time when on a cleaning spree. If you have to hunt round for all the tools and cleaning products you will fast find your motivation deteriorating. Keep all cleaning equipment in one storage place.

Another cleaning tip, when cleaning more than one room at a time is to clean your least favorite room first. The rooms that you really dread doing should be at the top of your list. Get them over and done with and then the job starts becoming easier.

Chances are that if you do not do them first they will not get done and then you will have no peace of mind knowing that you didn’t accomplish what you set out to do.

A cleaning tip that really should be taken on board is don’t clean just for the sake of cleaning. Everybody lives such busy lives and cleaning a room or the refrigerator just because it’s the weekend and that’s what you do could waste you a lot of time. If the designated cleaning project is still clean from the last time you cleaned it leave it alone until it really does need cleaning again. Leave the clean things alone and just clean the dirty things.

When cleaning surfaces etc a great little cleaning tip here is to work from the top to the bottom. The reason is very simple. If you start cleaning from the top you won’t drip cleaner on what you have already cleaned. Another time saver.

The next cleaning tip is possibly a little off the wall but to make house cleaning so much more fun get your favorite dance music going. Cleaning is so much easier when done to the beat of the music you love. You will find that you move faster and are far more energetic and you may even find you are having fun.

A cleaning tip that should be passed onto the whole family is that life is a whole lot easier if you clean as you go. If something needs taking upstairs and that’s where you are going pick it up and take it. If you make a spill clean it up straight away and it won’t harden and take more effort to clean. Put dirty cups etc into the dishwasher if you have one and do not put in the sink or leave on the counter top.

Cleaning and clearing as you go will save you a lot of time.
